Nationwide Coverage Across MalaysiaAbout Cikgu Pintu
I've spent two decades watching Malaysian families pick the wrong main door for the wrong reasons. So I changed how I work.
I started in this trade as an installer in the early 2000s. Over time, I noticed the same pattern: customers paid too much for the wrong door, or saved a few hundred ringgit and replaced the door three years later.
What was missing wasn't doors. It was clear, honest information. So I stopped acting like a salesman and started acting like a teacher.
Today I advise homeowners across Malaysia — condos, terrace houses, semi-Ds and bungalows. I don't have a fancy showroom. I have 20 years of knowing which security doors fail, which last, and which fit your house — not mine.

Common Questions
Not always, but most cut corners where you cannot see them: the frame, the lock grade and the door leaf. Whatever your budget, I'll show you what to check beyond the price tag.
A door-in-door pairs an outer security gate with an inner door, so you get two layers of protection and can open the inner door for airflow while the gate stays locked. A single door is one solid leaf — simpler, cleaner and space-saving. Each suits a different home.
Aluminium and stainless steel last longest in Malaysia's humid climate, because they resist rust with far less upkeep. Iron is proven and more affordable, but needs more care against rust. The right pick depends on how much rain and sun the door takes, and on your budget.
Yes, with the right core and frame, and a door leaf and anti-warp edging that are thick enough. But know the trade-offs. No solid wood door is crack-free; hairline movement is normal, not a defect. I would not put one where it takes more than two hours of direct sun a day, and no solid wood door in this climate comes with a waterproof guarantee. Solid wood needs wax oil every two to three months; HMR board cannot be waxed at all and will only show uneven marks.
Yes. A custom feng shui door is made to order around your layout and beliefs, without giving up the frame and lock you need for security.
No. A condo door faces a shared corridor while a landed house door faces the street, so the threat profiles differ — and the door, frame and lock specification should too.
Because door size codes are nominal, not actual. A door sold as 6 ft is usually 6.5 ft, and a "4 by 7" is often 4 by 7.5. Hack the opening to the label instead of the real frame-to-frame measurement and you end up six inches short. Always work from the frame figure, never the sales code.
No — installing the door is included, but wall works are not. Removing the old door and frame, hacking the opening, plastering, cementing and drilling are separate. The opening needs at least one inch of clearance on each side of the frame, and its height is measured from the finished floor because part of the frame sits below it. Send me a photo once the opening is done and I will check it before anything is delivered.
Yes, at the doorway. The frame needs a three-inch recess below floor level, so tiles at the doorway will break and need patching afterwards. And the frame foot cannot simply be cut off to avoid it — the door loses its balance and the base invites rust.
A good security door will not make a house impossible to break into, but it buys time and forces an intruder to bring more tools and make more noise. That is usually enough. Anyone who promises absolute protection is selling.
"You're not buying from a salesman. You're learning from a teacher."
My Approach
A different way to choose your security door.
Clear explanations of materials, locks, and structures — no jargon walls.
Lock grades, threat assessment, and budget breakdowns specific to your home.
You see the trade-offs. You make the decision. I just teach.
Most consultations end with a clearer head — and sometimes, a door you didn't expect to choose.
Choosing the right door is more important than choosing the cheapest door.
Product Series
Usually iron construction
The traditional door-in-door: an outer security gate with an inner door, usually in iron. Proven, dependable and the most budget-friendly way to get layered protection.
Aluminium & stainless steel
The same door-in-door layout in aluminium and stainless steel. More rust-resistant and lower-maintenance than iron — a good fit for entrances exposed to rain.
Aluminium outside, wood inside
Aluminium exterior for weather resistance, warm wood interior for the home. The main door to choose when you want the look of wood without exposing wood to sun and rain.
For a premium, natural look
Genuine solid wood — warm, solid, and timeless. Best for sheltered entrances out of long direct sun, with wax oil every two to three months.
For a modern, full-height entrance
A single door that runs all the way to the ceiling — clean lines and a striking modern entrance. For when you want a full-height main door instead of a gate-and-door pair.
Tailored to your needs
Made-to-order doors designed around feng shui considerations. Your layout and beliefs shape the design; security is never traded away.
For style and durability
Coloured stainless steel — vibrant finishes that resist rust. For a bold main door that still stands up to Malaysian weather.
For courtyards, gardens & porches
A modern slatted door for your courtyard or porch — privacy with airflow, built for Malaysian weather.

Customer Stories
The complaints we hear most about security doors — and the honest answer to each.
"The door opened the opposite way from what I wanted."
Cikgu's reply
Usually a mix-up over how swing direction is described. I always read it from outside looking in — from the car porch towards the house — and confirm it with you before anything is ordered.
"The quote was higher than two other shops I asked."
What you should know
Cheaper quotes often leave out the frame, the lock grade or the installation. Ask every shop for an itemised price and compare line by line.
"Nobody told me my floor tiles would crack."
Cikgu's reply
They will, at the doorway. The frame sits in a three-inch recess below floor level, so those tiles need patching afterwards. You should hear this before you order, not on installation day.
"My solid wood door has hairline cracks after a year."
What you should know
Hairline movement is normal for solid wood, not a defect — no solid wood door is crack-free. Wax oil it every two to three months and keep it out of long direct sun.
